I have been involved in the dog world for nearly 40 years. I bought my first Miniature Poodle in 1970 and have had poodles ever since. I took my first poodle along to domestic obedience just to learn to sit, stay and walk with me. I got bitten by the bug and began competing in the early 70's.
After losing this bitch I tried my hand at Breed Showing. Oh the hours of work even before you stepped into the ring! Still I made up 3 champions.
Then it was back to Obedience and on to Agility in1998. So many things to learn! Such great seminars I attended. Many great moments to savour. I was keen enough to participate at all levels of club activities and then went on to sit my judges exam. I thank all those senior judges who have helped and advised my over the years.
I have judged from North to South and lots of in between clubs. I like to have flowing courses that suit the level of competition. In the higher classes I expect a good degree of handling skills. Handing ribbons to the prize winners is a wonderful job.
I extend best wishes to all competitors and hope that you enjoy your weekend.
