Robyn Fraser
Robin started obedience at Hutt Valley Kennel Centre in 1972 with a black Labrador called Trixie. She was on the committee when the Obedience section broke away in 1977 to form Avalon Canine Obedience Club and held the position of President for 3 years from 1985. In 1987 Robin was made a Life Member. In 1989 Robin moved to Tauranga and instructed at the Tauranga Canine Obedience Association for three years, holding the position of President before moving to Paraparaumu in 1992 where she is currently instructing at Titahi Bay Canine Obedience Club. She was awarded Life Membership in 2007. During the late seventies Robin became involved in the breeding programme of the New Zealand Guide Dog Breeding Scheme and worked on the committee before it was centred in Auckland. From 1979 to 1988 Robin became involved in Working Trials, then competed in Agility for the next six years. Robin worked a Labrador ‘Tara’ through to Test C then changed to Flatcoated Retrievers, retiring Briar from Test C in 1996. Drift, an English Springer Spaniel became an OB CH in 2003 and she is currently working ‘Keri’ an English Springer cross in Test C. Robin began judging in 1981, judged at the Southern Classic in 1992, at the National Dog Obedience Assembly’s in 1989, 1992, 1995, 2001, the first German Shepherd National Show in 1994 and the National Dog Shows in 1996 and 2007 For the past twelve years Robin has been visiting Rest Homes in the Kapiti area promoting pet therapy for Canine Friends a voluntary organisation.. | ||
