Susan Sheppard

Susan Sheppard Thank you to the Zone 3 NDTA Organising Committee for asking me to judge at their show. Good luck to all the competitors.

I have been involved with dogs since acquiring my first dog, a German Shepherd (Gerrie), from Eketahuna in 1977.

Since that time I have trained three Obedience Champions, three Working Trials Champions and competed with my dogs in Senior Agility and obtained ADX with them all.

My current dogs are Danny and Delta. They are Australian Kelpies. Danny is currently competing in Test B and Delta in Novice. Apart from Heidi (a border collie) and Kelly (a Kelpie X) I’ve always trained German Shepherds. I think they are a magnificent dog but I really love my Kelpies.

I have been active in the dog administration scene being a Life Member of Christchurch Dog Training Club (CDTC), Canterbury Canine Agility Training Society (CCATS), Obedience Judges Association (OJA) and Obedience Trials Association (OTA) holding various positions of President, Head Instructor and Treasurer. I also had a stint as Zone Representative for two years.

I began my judging career in 1990 when I became an Obedience and Agility judge and I am now on the Test C Obedience Panel and Senior Agility Judges panel. I joined the Working Trial Panel in 1993 and am on the TD panel.
